Security guard injured after attempted robbery in Batley

A security guard was injured after a gang attempted to rob Greenhill Mills in Batley.

Four men broke into a secure yard in Grange Road between 11.30pm and midnight on Friday October 17.

They approached the guard in his cabin before demanding to know where the cigarettes were kept and hitting him over the head.

They escaped with just a torch worth £50.

The security guard was taken to Dewsbury and District hospital but later allowed home after treatment.

The van was white with several windows but no significant markings.
