Scholes Lane closed off until Friday

Two burst water-mains in Scholes Lane could mean part of the road will be closed for the rest of the week.

The end of Scholes Lane that meets Foldings Road will be closed until Friday morning as work continues to fix the bursts.

A spokesman for Yorkshire Water said: “We apologise to any customers that have been inconvenienced as a result of the emergency repairs to a watermain in Scholes Lane, Scholes.

“We were called to the area just before 1pm yesterday (Tuesday) and engineers arrived within the hour. Work is now underway to fix the two bursts and reinstate the road.

“The road has been closed since around 6pm yesterday and is expected to re-open Friday.

“There are two sets of work being carried out. The Foldings Road end of Scholes Lane is closed and is anticipated to reopen Friday morning. At the Halifax Road end of Scholes Lane there is two way traffic lights which are expected to be removed on Friday afternoon.”
