Detective Sergeant Mark Taylor, of Kirklees District CID, said: “Given the sheer volume of items stolen as well as the size and weight of the safes taken, we believe that more than one person was involved and that they have used a vehicle. “We are keen to hear from anyone who has seen any individuals behaving suspiciously in the Central Arcade area overnight between Sunday night and Monday morning or who has seen items being loaded in to a vehicle.”

Anyone with information is asked to either call Kirklees District CID directly via 101 or to pass details anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
