Rail passengers could be key to solving Dewsbury assault

The assault took place in Wormald Street at around 5.40pm on Saturday January 18.

The suspect ran off in the direction of the Eightlands Road entrance to Dewsbury Railway Station,

PC James Berriman, of the Dewsbury and Mirfield Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The Manchester Airport to Middlesborough train arrived at 5.36pm and we are particularly keen to speak to anyone who alighted the train who saw a man matching the suspect’s description.

“He is described as an Asian man, around 5’6” tall, dressed all in black with a hood up over his head.

“Anyone who believes they may have seen this man is asked to call Dewsbury and Mirfield Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101.”
