Priory Hospital ward named in honour of Earlsheaton soldier Corporal Jake Hartley

LASTING tributes to fallen hero Corporal Jake Hartley were unveiled this week.

A hospital ward has been named after the Dewsbury-born soldier and a memorial tree planted at his old secondary school.

The name of the Hartley Ward at the new Priory Hospital in Earlsheaton was suggested by pupils at Earlsheaton Technology College, where Cpl Hartley was a pupil.

It was officially opened by Cpl Harley’s mother, Nathalie Taylor, on Tuesday.

“It has been overwhelming,” she said.

“For me to do this has been an absolute honour for Jake.”
