Final preparations are underway for this year’s Mirfield Arts Festival.
The three-day celebration of the arts takes place from Friday until Sunday and will feature original art exhibitions, free talks and walks across the town.
Mirfield Library will act as a hub during the festival, where visitors can kick off their experience by picking up festival brochures, guides, drinks and vouchers.
There will be a host of festival venues dotted across the town during the weekend, including West Yorkshire Print Workshop, St Paul’s, Creative Arts Hub, Shepley Bridge Marina and the Woodturning Club.
On Saturday, the The Callaloo Carnival Parade and Dhol Drillerz Drummers will kick off the weekend with a display of colour, dancing and performances at Mirfield Library from 10am.
And the performances will feature members of the 3Points Urban Contemporary Dance Company - who are travelling from Catalan in Spain to wow the crowds.
Throughout the festival, talks will take place about the Mirfield Malting industry and the railways and their links to the town.
The work of Charlotte Bronte will also be celebrated with walks and a reading by Coronation Street actress Angela Crow.
There will also be entertainment from the Nightingales Ladies Choir, as well as giant outdoor children’s games and a pop-up sculpture park.
Poetry group A Firm of Poets will entertain visitors on Saturday evening.
Leeds United fans will also get a chance to learn about their heroes and see rare club memorabilia during the festival.
