Police probe after two bodies found

Police are investigating after the bodies of two men were discovered in Leeds over a 24-hour period.

The first was found in a beck in Pudsey Road, near the Wickes roundabout, on Saturday morning.

Less than 24 hours later, at around 6am on Sunday, another dead body was discovered on the hard shoulder of the M621, junction four westbound.

Detectives are thought to be exploring the possibility that the man, who they are not yet naming, plunged to his death from the flyover bridge. They are not treating the death as suspicious.

The man is believed to have been from the Leeds area. A post-mortem examination was due to be held last night and the man’s family are believed to have been informed.

A day earlier, police had been called to a stretch of water off Pudsey Road following the first find.

Police said last night they did not believe the two deaths were linked.
