Police issue e-fit of car punch man

Police have released an e-fit image of a man they are trying to trace after a car was damaged in Batley.

The incident took place in Low Lane, near the Co-op, when a man punched a Bentley in a fit of rage after the driver beeped at him to get out of the way.

It was around 2.40pm on Tuesday, June 10.

A 64-year-old man was driving his car when the man walked across the road, seemingly without looking.

When the driver beeped his horn the man shouted at him before punching the car, causing damage to the bodywork on the driver’s side.

The man is described as white, aged 25-30, between 5ft 9ins and 5ft 10ins tall, with ginger hair and a stocky build. He was wearing a black t-shirt.

PC Harry Tennant, of Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This offence occurred at a time when there would have been other motorists and pedestrians in the area and we would urge anyone who has witnessed this to call Batley and Spen NPT on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
