Police hunting Scholes burglars

Police are on the hunt for burglars who stole personal items worth more than £2,900 from a house in Scholes.

A Reuge music box worth £1,500, an ornamental inkwell valued at £600 and Asprey carraige clock worth £800 were among the belongings stolen from a house on Westfield Lane between 3pm-5.50pm on Thursday, August 14.

The burglars attemped to break in to the house several times through the patio doors, causing extensive damage, before smashing a door open with a large garden ornament, which sounded the house alarm.
