Police hunt for gold ring thief

Police are looking for a thief who stole a £1,000 ring from a home in Dewsbury yesterday evening.

The suspect is believed to have climbed a drainpipe outside the property on Healds Roads around 4.45pm before swiping the golden ring from just inside an upstairs window and running away.

He is described as either a mixed race or Asian male, six foot tall, in his late 20s or early 30s, with a bald, shiny head and of medium build. He was wearing faded jeans and a blue/grey navy top.

DI Ian Thornes from Kirklees CID said: “The suspect has climbed an external drainpipe to the bathroom window and climbed through but was disturbed by the occupant in the house. He jumped back and ran away but made off with a gold ring worth £1,000.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call Kirklees CID on 101.
