Police hunt for Crackenedge knife robber

POLICE are hunting a robber who is believed to have been armed with a knife.

The suspect stole a 28-year-old man’s wallet in Crackenedge last Friday morning.

The man narrowly missed bumping into the robber as he walk round the corner from Park Street in Crackenedge Lane at around 8.40am.

The robber demanded the man’s wallet and, when the victim refused, began to draw what appeared to be a knife from his coat pocket. He then ran off up Park Street after the victim handed his wallet across.

The suspect was white, 5ft 8ins tall with light coloured eyes. He wore black, possibly denim, trousers, and a grey shellsuit-style zip-up hooded jacket which was pulled up and covering the lower part of his face.

Anyone who has information or who witnessed the incident should ring Dewsbury CID on 101.
