Officers also made five stop searches under section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Batley Neighbourhood Policing Team co-ordinator Martyn Lee said: “The multi-agency operations are run in the locality on a regular basis, and are invariably very successful in detecting a range of offences.

“Officers from WYP, VOSA, HMIC and Kirklees Licensing are on hand to deal with their respective responsibilities and take enforcement action.

“A range of sanctions are used from fixed penalty tickets, formal warnings, reporting infringements to the courts for summons and vehicle seizures.

“The next such operation is likely to be soon in the North Kirklees area and anticipated to be just as successful.”
