Police chief to host crime surgery in Batley

Mark Burns-Williamson, who was elected to the post in November, is heading to Batley to hear about issues affecting people in the town and surrounding areas.

Police and Crime Commissioners hold the chief constable to account, set a police and crime plan and set the force budget in their area.

The surgery will be held at the Batley Resource Centre in Commercial Street from 3pm to 5.30pm. on April 19.

Anyone wanting to raise an issue with the commissioner can request a 15-minute appointment to discuss their concerns.

Mr Burns-Williamson said: “Engaging with people is important so that I can understand the needs and concerns of people in West Yorkshire and then focus on addressing them.

“I have a number of ways of doing this such as visiting each Neighbourhood Police Team area, and surgeries are the latest method to be launched.

“If you have any concerns or problems regarding policing and crime matters that you would like to discuss with me, please contact my office to request an appointment.”
