Police appeal for witnesses after pensioner, 81, dies after being hit by a truck in Heckmondwike

Police in Kirklees are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Heckmondwike.

The incident occurred at 3:45pm on Westgate yesterday afternoon (January 8).

A truck was in collision with an 81-year old local man, who was transported to Leeds General Infirmary with serious head injuries, but sadly died.

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact the non-emergency number 101 quoting log reference 1007 of 08/01.

Likewise, we would ask anyone with dash-cam footage or CCTV from the area during this time to get in touch.
