Police appeal: Twelve-year-old boy robbed on way home from school

A 12-year-old boy was robbed on his way home from school in Mirfield.

The victim was walking along Crossley Lane at around 3.20pm on Friday, June 19, when he was approached by two male teenagers and a female teenager.

One of the males has demanded money, and the boy tried to walk away but was followed by the group.

The second male then proded the 12-year-old in the side with what he believed to be a penknife.

The victim gave the group a small amount of money and ran away.

The two male suspects are described as being between 17 to 18-years-old.

One of the them is described as white, tall, of average build, clean shaven with pale skin.

The other is described as being of mixed race and shorter and of larger build than the other suspect.

Det Con Richard Brooke, of Kirklees District Robbery Team, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this robbery or who may have information about the group involved.”
