Poetic opening for pupils at school’s new library

Youngsters celebrated the opening of their school’s new library with poetry workshops from a special visitor.

Poet Conrad Burdekin visited Healey Junior, Infants and Nursery School in Batley to officially open the revamped library.

He also worked with year two and year three classes for poetry workshops and led a poetry presentation to the entire school in an assembly on Monday, December 7.

The new library features thousands of new books as well as new furniture.

It also now has an lectronic library system. Mr Burdekin is pictured with pupils from the school.
