Meat pie with mushy peas was served for lunch with a selection of deserts, as well as tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the four-hour boat trip.

The weather smiled on the outing supplying a pleasant dry day and everyone onboard the two boats had a thoroughly great time which included some dancing.

A spokesman said afterwards: “This was an ideal opportunity for elderly residents to take part in a community get-together relaxing and meeting with other people.

“The safe at Safe Anchor Trust at Mirfield is also to be commended for their help and patience throughout the trip.
