Wreaths laid at war memorial during Remembrance service in Heckmondwike

Wreaths were laid at the war memorial in Green Park in Heckmondwike as the town's branch of the Royal British Legion marked its centenary.

The service honoured all those who fought in both world wars and other more recent conflicts.

The Heckmondwike branch of the Royal British Legion was one of the first branches to be formed back in June 1921 and is one of the oldest still running.

Meetings are held monthly at St James Church, Heckmondwike on the third Thursday of the month at 7pm.
