Treasure Island: Pirate panto promoted in Dewsbury Arcade pop-up box office

A group of pirates descended on Dewsbury Arcade last weekend to promote an upcoming pantomime.

Cast members of Dewsbury Arts Group’s latest show - a panto version of Treasure Island - took to their very own one-off pop-up box office in the newly-refurbished building where they sold tickets, chatted with members of the public and posed for photos.

A spokesperson for the theatre group said: “We had such a fun day in our pop-up booking office. It was great to meet people and the Arcade was buzzing.

“It promises to be a hilarious pantomime for all ages, full of cake, comedy and a parrot with attitude.

“Join Jim Hawkins and Long John Silver on a rollicking quest for treasure, where pirates meet the Smuggler’s Cove Women’s Institute and chaos reigns.”

The panto opens on November 22 and runs until November 29 at the Judith and David Wood Theatre on Lower Peel Street, Dewsbury, with some matinee performances as well as evening shows.
