The support from Guiseley-based replacement number plate supplier, Number 1 Plates, follows an appeal by DCSK for support from local businesses to help cover the costs associated with running the street kitchen, which includes the cost of a storage unit used to safely store donations of clothes, shoes and toiletries.

Reverend Andrew Cass, founder of Dewsbury Community Street Kitchen, was delighted with the news.

He said: “We are incredibly grateful to businesses such as Number 1 Plates, as well as our regular donors which include takeaways, supermarkets, manufacturers and convenience stores, who all ensure that we can help those who need it most.”

Aidan Ibbetson, managing director of Number 1 Plates, said: “Dewsbury Community Street Kitchen is a fantastic cause, and when it was brought to our attention that they were in need of sponsorship, we felt compelled to help out in any way we could.

"Nobody should struggle to feed or clothe themselves or their family.”
