McDonald's putting on free football sessions for kids in Dewsbury over next three weekends

Taking place at Kick Off Recreation Centre, there are four fun-filled dates that will get children between the ages of five and 11 playing football again.

In Dewsbury there are four sessions parents/carers can sign their children up for, meaning 120 under 11s will have the opportunity to learn from top FA coaches.

One session has already taken place but there are still spaces available at sessions on April 24, May 1 and May 8 from 12pm-1pm.

All sessions follow the latest FA grassroots guidance and Government protocols.

Dewsbury McDonald’s franchisee Anne Wainwright said: “It’s vital kids in Dewsbury are able to get back out playing with their friends after a tough year of lockdown restrictions. Football is the perfect way to do this.

“We’re so proud we can do our part to help get kids active again through our Fun Football programme.

"Fun Football is all about enjoying football in a fun, safe and pressure-free environment, and it’s been wonderful to see the joy on kids’ faces as they return to playing the sport they love.

"We’ll be putting on plenty more sessions throughout the spring and summer, ensuring all families in Dewsbury can access the nation’s favourite game.”

The Dewsbury Fun Football sessions are part of McDonald’s programme that aims to provide five million hours of free Fun Football coaching to children in the UK by 2022.

In partnership with all four Football Associations across the UK, McDonald’s and its franchisees are providing hundreds of free football sessions, all delivered by a team of fully qualified coaches at over 600 locations across the UK during 2021.

Whether they are first-timers or keen to get back to developing their skills, every child can turn up, take part and enjoy.
