Kirklees gets ready for digital Pride
LGBTQ+ pride events will look and feel very different this year due to Covid-19 and social distancing restrictions, but there are plenty of fun online activities for people to get involved with.
Pride is celebrated across the world every June, coinciding with the 1969 Stonewall Riots. However, this year the traditional parade and party cannot go ahead due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Consequently authorities across the UK are helping people to celebrate with an array of socially distanced and digital events.
Kirklees Council is encouraging residents to organise picnics and is hosting a series of webinars. Click here to book a place.
The online events will take place between June 28-July 5, and discuss an array of topics, encompassing the history and key moments of Pride and the LGBTQ+ movement.
