Muhammad and Ali were visiting St Annes beach from Dewsbury when they got into trouble after being cut off by the tide.

Their cousin, a 15-year-old boy, managed to swim to shore and raised the alarm.

A huge rescue operation was launched involving Lytham St Annes RNLI, the Southport Lifeboat crew, the coastguard and police services.
