Grand designs: How Dewsbury could look after £50m transformation

Dewsbury town centre is set for a major £50m regeneration after receiving funding which will enable its 'Blueprint' scheme to go ahead.

The money – a combination of Government cash and council funding – will kick-start nine projects aimed at improving the local economy and environment for residents and businesses alike.

Among the ambitious plans are improvements to Dewsbury Market, the creation of a new town park and the regeneration of the 1880s Grade II-listed Dewsbury Arcade.

There will also be investment in jobs and skills for local people.

These artist's impressions reveal how the town could look once the projects are complete.
