Friend’s heartfelt tribute to ‘remarkable’ and ‘really friendly’ Mirfield mum as fundraiser reaches £5,000
Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a Mirfield mum of three who has unexpectedly passed away.
Clair Medley, who was 47, sadly died yesterday (Thursday).

A fundraiser to help with funeral costs has now been set up on behalf of the “heartbroken” family by Nicki Hill, who was a good friend of Clair’s for 20 years.
“It is heartbreaking,” Nicki told the Reporter Series. “It has come from nowhere. She never really got ill. She used to go out in just a t-shirt and a bodywarmer no matter what the weather.”
She added: “We met during the school run. We did it for years. And we used to stand outside the school for hours on end just talking.
“Everybody knew Clair. She was really friendly and would stop to say hello to anyone.”
Clair, who was a carer for her dad, was a mum to three children, and also has a sister, Lisa.
She also had a close bond with best friend Paula, with the duo calling themselves Thelma and Louise.

On the GoFundMe donation page, which has so far raised £5,000, Nicki wrote:
“This was one remarkable woman. She had a heart of gold and would do anything she could for anyone. This has come as a huge shock to anyone that knew her, which I can guarantee was a lot of people.”
She added: “I am trying to raise money for the funeral to help Lisa and her boys give Clair the send off she deserves.
“Anything over the funeral will go to the kids and Lisa to try and make their lives a bit more comfortable.
“Other than that I am fighting through tears writing this and I can’t even put into words how much of a beautiful soul she was.”
On over £5,000 being raised for the funeral, Nicki told the Reporter Series:
“It shows how much she was loved. In these hard times anything anyone can spare is brilliant.”
