Family of missing Dewsbury man told of body discovered in the River Calder

The body of a man has been found in a river in West Yorkshire, police have said.

The man, thought to be in his 60s, was found in the River Calder in Horbury, near Wakefield, on Saturday.

Formal identification is yet to take place, however West Yorkshire Police said the family of a man reported missing earlier that day have been informed of the discovery.

Patrick Roddy, 62, was reported missing from Dewsbury on Saturday, March 7.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner.
