Take the first steps of your social care with a range of roles available at Avalon Group.

As an extra incentive, the organisation is offering a £500 bonus for new starters: £250 when you start and £250 paid on passing your probationary period. You’ll be paid from £9.50 per hour, with weekend enhancements available, and the added benefits of sleepover shifts at £80 per shift – plus a bonus of £250 for staff who successfully refer a friend. There’s also a guaranteed pay review planned for April.

"It doesn't matter whether you're new to social care or a social care worker interested in changing providers, we have a role that can suit you.

"You could be retired, looking to join a new care provider or studying in the social care field – we have flexible hours to available to help you balance your home and family life.”

The Avalon Group provides flexible person-centred care, support and companionship to adults for everyday life, housing, learning and employment across the north of England. The charity’s customers include older adults, people with dementia, physical, sensory or learning disabilities, mental health difficulties, acquired brain injuries, young people in transition and adults on the autistic spectrum.

The organisation prides itself on forming meaningful relationships with its customers, thanks to team members ready to go the extra mile.

People like Lucy Price, Service Manager from the Skipton branch, who attended a special reception with the Prime Minister in November to recognise the hard work and dedication of people from across the social care sector during the pandemic.

She received an invitation to the event after the charity’s CEO nominated her to receive the honour. “Lucy is just one amazing example of someone who wants to go above and beyond for our incredible customers,” he says.

“When one of our customers with complex needs was diagnosed with COVID-19 and admitted to hospital last year, Lucy spent more than six days sleeping on the hospital floor in full PPE to help make sure the customer received the specialist support our incredible team is trained to provide."

Because of the customer’s complex needs, someone with Lucy’s expertise was needed to work alongside hospital staff to help with communication.

“Supporting people to live life their way is the kind of care that makes you feel inspired, every day,” adds Larry. “Join the Avalon family and make care your career.”
