Two years ago, Marcin Sobanski, 32, met his wife Delmi Sobanski, 33, in London after visiting the city for treatments due to suffering with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS/ME).

The pair eventually married at Leeds Town Hall, and despite being repeatedly told he will never father children, Mrs Sobanksi gave birth to their daughter Valentina six months ago, but due to a host of factors she now faces deportation back to her home country Guatemala.

Mr Sobanski said: “We’re without money but have a large hospital bill of £5,605 to pay for after the birth of our daughter.

“As she isn’t British Mimi wasn’t eligible for free healthcare and legal costs to apply for the right to remain in the UK.”

Mr Sobanski has also raised his concerns for his wife’s deportation to Guatemala, which he describes as a “very dangerous” country.

“Delmi’s uncle was recently murdered and her brother has had a gun to his head due to mistaken identity,” Mr Sobanski said.

“If the hospital bill isn’t paid, along with the fees to apply for remaining in the UK, our family will not be able to stay together.

“If we cannot pay the bill then she cannot receive leave to remain due to the outstanding debt when we apply, which costs around £2,000 to apply in fees.”

As a result, Mr Sobanski has started a Go Fund Me Page to raise as much cash to help his wife remain in the UK, where she can then apply for British citizenship.

He said: “We can’t afford to live and move forward as currently she is a non-entity in the system, but she wants to work and pay taxes.

“People suggested crowdfunding for a time when we were starting out with our own flat while pregnant with no furniture, similar for our wedding.

“We have managed to get by without crowdfunding.

“Now, if possible, we’re asking for help so that our family can be together.”
