Parrot on the loose in Scholes

The bird, which has a red body and grey wings, was spotted in a tree in Pavillion View, Scholes, this morning (Monday).

Builders on the nearby Cricketers View development have seen the parrot being attacked by magpies.

Resident Dorothy Shepherd said: “The magpies are mobbing it – they are going to kill it.

“It’s sad as it’s obviously someone’s pet.”

Mrs Shepherd said the owner could be at work and not realised the bird was missing.
