A Dewsbury nursery has been named as one of the best in Yorkshire.

The Co-operative Childcare in Dewsbury Moor beat over 900 other nurseries to be placed in the top 10 daycare providers in the entire region.

The impressive rating is based on feedback from users of, after the website used over 22,000 reviews from parents, grandparents and other carers to create a list of the most popular pre-schools.

It is the third consecutive year the Heckmondwike Road-based nursery has made the top 10, and it was praised for its friendly and professional staff and high standards of education in the crucial first five years of a child’s life.

The news has delighted nursery manager Joanne Wilson.

“We are extremely proud to have the nursery rated so highly for the third year in a row. It’s all the more rewarding knowing that the reviews have come from local parents and guardians,” she said.

“We pride ourselves on being at the heart of the community and providing excellent care and education for all of our children. To be recognised by an industry body is a testament to the great colleagues at the Dewsbury Moor nursery and their commitment to local children and their families.”

The nursery is hoping to build on its successful reputation by inviting parents looking for a pre-school place for their child to visit, meet staff and ask questions at an open evening on Thursday April 28 from 3-7pm. Other family members are welcome to attend.
