Pair take on Easter spin challenge in Eden’s memory

TWO friends have teamed up for a sponsored spin in aid of children’s cancer charities – and they want Reporter readers to join them.

Clara Moore and Rachael Shaw will take part in the spin challenge on Easter Saturday to raise funds for Eden’s Trust.

The trust was set up in memory of Mrs Shaw’s daughter, Eden, who died from cancer aged 11. It supports Candlelighters and Children with Cancer.

The challenge, which is being supported by Dewsbury Sports Centre, will take place at Asda in Dewsbury, 10am-4pm.

Mrs Shaw, of St Paulinus Close, Westtown, said: “The sports centre staff know me and asked if we fancied doing something. We’ve been doing spinning for the past year so our little legs are getting pretty good now!

“The centre staff have said they will come along and help out, and James Skidmore who works there is going to cycle with us.”

Mrs Shaw hopes shoppers will take the time to have a spin themselves on a spare bike as well as making a donation.

Dewsbury Sports Centre will be handing our guess passes to anyone who takes part or makes a significant donation.
