Owner’s joy after police trace puppy stolen in Chickenley

A WIDOW has been reunited with her beloved pug pup after she was stolen yards from her home.

Elaine Ellins was thrilled when police called on Sunday to say that 11-month-old Ellie was safe at the Dewsbury station.

Mrs Ellins, of Hazel Crescent, Chickenley, said: “I’m absolutely suited. Ellie’s fine and settled back in already.”

The pup was snatched on April 27 after a workman accidentally left the front door ajar and she ran out into the street.

A police spokeswoman said Ellie was found by Morley officers and enquiries were ongoing.
