Who can we blame?
In response to Coun Kane’s comments on Chickenley deprivation (Reporter, July 22).
In the past 50 years Chickenley has lost its football ground to become the Princess estate; the cricket and bowling ground became the Pavilion Court estate; it has lost its post office, a butcher, barbers and hairdressers.
The local old people’s home has been taken by Kirklees Council for offices.

Hide AdWe don’t have a swing for the children in any play areas – or even a park bench or a park for that matter.
So does this still justify his support for the 40 affordable homes near Hazel Crescent – one of the worst affected areas?
If we can’t blame the council or the councillors then who is to blame?
