May I say a huge thank you to the 2,536 people in Dewsbury Moor, Ravensthorpe, Scout Hill, Thornhill Road, Westtown and Westborough who entrusted me with their vote on May 3.

Whether you voted for me or not it will be an honour for me to serve as your ward councillor in Dewsbury West.

It’s been a genuine pleasure to speak with so many of you during my campaign and to hear about your concerns. I look forward to working with you over the next four years to tackle the local issues and try to make a difference in our area.

I want to thank my campaign team and all the members of the Dewsbury West Labour Party, whose help and support was instrumental in not just getting me elected but increasing the Labour majority in our ward.
