Nightlife is a nightmare for residents

LIVING in Batley, you sort of accept that Friday and Saturday nights might get a bit noisy around the Bradford Road area.

You accept that there might be a little bit of tidying up to do on the streets the following morning.

But what I can’t accept is the disgusting scenes that I have witnessed recently.

Living near to the bars, I understand that I’m likely to hear some noise on a weekend.

However, the repeated booming from the bass is, I suspect, likely to send me into some sort of trance.

The constant boom boom boom for three hours is a little excessive. I’m sure the people in the clubs love the music, but the whole of Batley certainly doesn’t need to hear it.Then there are the delightful people who walk from one bar to the next.

A couple of weeks ago I looked out of my window to see a woman urinating (whilst still stood) at the side of the road. And just to the side of her a group of cackling, drunken women.

What I don’t understand is why these people feel it’s okay to walk through a residential area making so much noise and displaying such antisocial behaviour.

And it is every weekend for a couple of hours a night. Screaming, shouting and falling over.

Surely the bars have some sort of responsibility to make sure there isn’t disruption to the local residents?

I’d be interested to know whether anyone else finds the behaviour of the bars, and those who frequent them, to be offensive. I’m not sure what can be done about it, but the more people who say something then the more chance there is of something changing.
