LETTERS: Search for World War One soldiers

I wonder if it would be possible through your letters column to publish an appeal regarding a Commemoration of the Battle of Neuve Chapelle, the first set-piece offensive battle undertaken from static trenchlines, which took place on March 10, 1915.

I am a member of the Dewsbury Branch of the Royal British Legion and the event is to be held in Halifax on Sunday March 8.

Six Indian Army Brigades were involved in the battle and it is descendants of anyone who took part that we are seeking. Should anyone who had an Indian family member involved in the battle see this, please get in touch.

On another matter our members would like to thank local Poppy Appeal supporters for helping us raise a total of £16,250 last November.

Please support our fundraising stalls at events in Crow Nest Park to be held later in the year.
