Letter: Volunteers help make Mirfield Show

But it takes more than that to dampen Yorkshire spirits and visitors came in their thousands.

I would like to pay tribute to our organising committee, all volunteers, who spend all year in the planning of the event. They are a dedicated and very hardworking bunch. Their organisation paid off and all went very smoothly. It is a pleasure to work alongside them.

A very big thank you, too, to the army of volunteers who give up their time over the weekend to help with the event.

Last but not least, I would like to thank the businesses who sponsored event, prizes and advertising. In these difficult times, it must be hard to divert funds to our event. Thank you

I would like particularly to thank DFS Huddersfield who were our main sponsors of the show. And I would like to especially mention Mirfield Town Council who contributed with a generous amount despite them going through challenging times financially. It is very much appreciated.
