My family’s connection to Mount Pleasant goes back to my grandfather, Fred Ellis Fox, who, in the 1930s, was the President of the Batley Agricultural Society which ran the annual Batley Show.

In the 1960s my uncle Alfred Fox was a keen supporter and sponsor of the rugby club as well as being the president of the Batley Cricket Club, of which I was Secretary.

Fox’s Field sounds very appropriate to me and I thank the current Fox’s management for honouring our family name in this way.
