Letter: Excellent work done by Charles Fenton

I would like to acknowledge the excellent work done in the local community by Charles Fenton OBE, JP, FTI, who died recently aged 82.

Charles worked for the BBA Group all his life, as managing director between 1970-1985 and chairman from 1985 to 1989.

At the height of its success it had 26,000 employees worldwide. When he retired he remained chairman of the BBA Retired Employees Association. At his recent funeral service is was said that Charles always remained true to West Yorkshire and its people. This can be seen in his involvement in the area.

He was keen that the members be able to express themselves through arts and crafts and was looking forward to seeing their work at the forthcoming open week.
