Letter: Does anyone know about 1940s band?

I am seeking information about Ken Grundell and the New Mayfair Band, which was a band of lads from the 1940s, I think. The pianist was my grandfather, Percy Cannings, and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on where they performed and if they have any pictures.
