It is truly an honour
I WOULD like to thank the people of Mirfield who once again placed their trust in me to work with my colleagues Vivien and Kath to represent them to Kirklees Council.
The pride in being their choice was just as great last Friday as when they first honoured me in 1998, and I can never forget it is an honour and our first objective is to make Mirfield matter.
Since Friday I have been nominated as my group’s choice for this year’s deputy mayor and God willing subsequently the First Citizen of the Borough. It will be the first time any Mirfield Councillor has held that office and once again that is thanks to Mirfield people.
The election is now behind us and I hope all political parties can work together on the many projects, issues and campaigns for our beautiful town
