Help us find darts link

In a newspaper over Christmas there was an article re a proposed new design of a dartboard .

The article states that the present design is attributed to Thomas Buckle a 19th Century iron worker from Dewsbury.

I was born in Dewsbury and have lived in the area for 84 years and had never heard this. Did you know about it?

EDITOR’S NOTE: According to the article darts historian Patrick Chaplin traced the numbering that we are familiar with on today’s dartboards to Thomas Buckle. His online history of darts states: “1913 - Dewsbury wire-worker Thomas Buckle takes a London Fives Board, increases the number of segments to twenty, thereby creating the numbering sequence we know today and inventing the Yorkshire Board.”
