Food fayre tasty treat

On behalf of Mirfield Community Partnership could I please extend a hearty well done and congratulations to the organisers of the first craft and food fayre which was held in Mirfield on Saturday April 28.

What a brilliant idea and so well organised and executed.

Eastthorpe Gardens, The West Yorkshire Print Workshop and St Paul’s Church were all used by the stalls and, as usual, Mirfield people turned out in their droves to support this initiative.

The weather could have been kinder but the rain held off until later in the afternoon and even then it didn’t dampen the spirits of the stall-holders.

The stalls inside St Paul’s Church proved to be a wonderful part of the event and it showed to everyone what a perfect venue this is and how we should use it more as a community hall.

I believe it is the organisers’ intention to hold these craft and food fayres regularly and I for one will make sure I attend.

Once again, congratulations – it is just the sort of thing Mirfield needs.
