Crem staff were great

Having recently read a family’s letter (‘This is no way to say goodbye’, Letterbox, May 3), our hearts truly go out to you. We totally agree that this is a very hard and emotional time for anyone involved and are saddened by your experience.

However, in our experience we could not have found the crematorium and their staff more obliging.

We have just lost our son/step-son, brother, grandson, uncle and nephew Steven, suddenly aged 22.

We were able to inform our funeral directors that we were expecting a large attendance and this was passed on to the crematorium.

They in turn did us the courtesy of ensuring on the day of the funeral that we had sufficient time to grieve with loved ones and friends without feeling pressured to leave.

Our time there was obviously as ‘pleasant’ as it could be given the circumstances. There were no obvious signs of construction work going on at the time and as said previously staff were courteous and efficient, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was involved on the day.
