A sign of support

IN 2013 Dewsbury and District Rambling Club will be celebrating 100 years as a local walking club.

To mark the event a circular walk of approximately 26 miles has been produced by the current members. This has been divided into short sections covering areas of Batley, Dewsbury, Mirfield and the Spen Valley.

It is hoped that many local people will enjoy the walk and discover places previously unknown to them, as well as familiar areas of our local countryside.

A walk such as this cannot be produced without incurring considerable expense as signposts have to be erected on the route and a guidebook has to be produced and printed. The club has worked hard to raise funds itself but is very grateful to Yorkshire Building Society for its generous donations towards the cost of this walk which we hope will encourage more people to discover the benefits of taking regular exercise.
