Kirklees CID would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident in Sunnyside, where an officer suffered leg injuries after being struck by a silver Vauxhall Astra.

It is one of three collisions which officers are linking.

The first incident happened in Bunkers Lane, Staincliffe, just after 8.20pm after a Ford Focus hit a parked Vauxhall Vectra and a parked Nissan Micra.

The suspect ran off from the scene.

At around 8.45pm, officers tried to stop a Vauxhall Astra in Sunnyside.

But the car drove off, narrowly missing a policeman and injuring another who was on foot.

The Astra hit a wall around mile away in Walkley Lane shortly after.

The officer’s injuries were not life-threatening but he was treated in Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield overnight.
