Eversleigh Private Day Nurseries in Dewsbury was named Outstanding Placement Provider of the Year at Kirklees College’s annual award ceremony for childhood studies, where students receive their qualification certificates.

Owner Anne Bowman, who founded the nurseries in Earlsheaton and Westborough, gained her foundation degree in Early Years at Kirklees College and encourages her staff to continue their studies at the college.

Eversleigh was honoured because of the high quality professional support that each student placed with it receives.

Kirklees College placement monitoring officer Alison Dews nominated the nursery for the accolade.

She said: “Eversleigh takes on the role in a responsible manner and the staff are always welcoming and friendly.

“They have an understanding that everyone needs a chance to learn, and offer the students a good experience to train at a setting where children are valued as individuals.”

Mrs Bowman said it was important to support the educators of the future.

She said: “We owe it to future generations to achieve as high a standard of wellbeing and education as they can. We work closely with the tutors and encourage visits from the college so that the students are monitored and supported during their placement.

“We felt totally surprised and proud to be given the award and as a result we are even more enthusiastic towards helping the students, as it is great to be acknowledged in this way.”
