The rugby league club and developers want to work together to create a 234 home residential home development along with a number of community facilities that would benefit the club and Shaw Cross in general.

The renegotiated plan would provide for two multi-use games areas, an all-weather practice pitch, a park and a 334 space car park on the site by Owl Lane. The plan builds on an agreement between Kirklees Council, Stirling Investment Properties LLP and Scotfield RBS made in 2008, along with Harron Homes and Dewsbury Rams.

Approving the updated agreement will allow a planning application to be submitted.

Kirklees Council cabinet will make a decision on Tuesday.
