New kit in Ross’ memory

A FOOTBALL team has unveiled its new strip in memory of a former player.

Every Mirfield Town player’s shirt has the name of Ross Wood stitched into the sleeve.

Ross, 22, died after he was attacked while on a night out in Mirfield four years ago.

He was known to many as a talented footballer, and was captain of Mirfield Town.

Since he died, the squad have worn shirts with his name on them. The new kit was provided thanks to sponsorship from grab wagon firm Grab Hire.
