New deputy mayor named
Former army major Coun Dodds has been a Denby Dale councillor since 2004.
He said: “I want to support incoming mayor Paul Kane (Lab, Dewsbury East) in every way I can.

Father-of-two Coun Dodds was born in Scotland and lives in Upper Cumberworth. He played a leading role in the transfer of Denby Dale library into community hands in a move supported and encourage by council leader David Sheard (Lab, Heckmondwike).
He will take office in May when Coun Kane becomes mayor of Kirklees. He will be supported by his wife, Carol, as deputy mayoress.
